A very evocative scene of a French fishing port, depicting the old port, lighthouse and merchant’s buildings typical of the Mediterranean in that period. The painting has been relined and undergone some basic restoration which is undetectable under normal viewing. Likewise the frame has been re-gilded sometime in the past. Both the painting and the frame are in good condition and whilst showing signs of age are ready to hang. Together they present as a very attractive and inexpensive art piece.
